homemade nerf attachments: electric tape rocks by caiobrazil homemade nerf attachments: electric tape rocks by caiobrazil
WHAT? Caiobrazil posting photos? what's next, uruguay deciding to become a state of brazil again?

so yeah, i spent three or four hours yesterday doing these things. i made them entirely out of paper, cardboard, electric tape and plastic sticks from lollipops. i also used a bit of transparent tape for the "scope".

so yeah. i've got an ammo bandolier for the stock, with two attachment points for tight, reliable seating on the stock, and an ammo capacity of 8 darts.

i also made a paper sling, useful on transition to secondary: i drop the rifle and grab the Jolt in my pocket.

for sights, i made two of them. now the thing is, the attachment mechanisms are a bit screwed up. obviously it isn't nearly as tight as original nerf attachments, but the scope keeps falling all the time. i'm looking forward to reinforcing it.

scope: made with a carboard roll from a spent toilet paper roll, electric tape and trasnparent tape for the "lens". the "reticle" was also made from electric tape. i found out that aligning the middle dot with the front sights of the Retaliator gives the weapon a good "zero" for six-seven meters or such, and is thus pretty useful.

adjustable sights: ooh yeah. tangent-style sights similar to these you find in the AK, Mosin or Karabiner 98. you adjust it by moving the slider through the sight ladder, causing the sights to "rise" since the slider goes up in a ramp. i found it pretty useful and accurate, hitting consistent shots at around ten meters or more.

the nice thing is, since i've now got a stock ammo bandolier, i can carry MOAR ammo. my current capacity is 21 rounds (12 in magazine, 8 in bandolier, 1 in the Jolt).

I got a Nerf Spectre (Elite version)... with modified Vulcan darts in it (my sister bit the streamline darts off... except one. And the Vulcan darts had pellets in it)

well, there's something i have nor the tools, free time or money to do. believe it or not, Nerf Blasters here in brazil have an R$100 - R$250 price tag, and that's not counting the electronic semi-automatics.
granted that's in Reais and not Dollars, but 1 real ~ 0.5 dollars

How come this didn't inspire someone to work a deal with Nerf to make it in Brazil or copy it closely?

because it would be nearly as expensive. most taxes are on imports, sure, but many nationally-produced products are just as expensive for whatever reason. furthermore, the government is in such an anti-gun rampage since the totes-not-commie [/sarcasm] party rised to power that they are planning on prohibiting anything that looks like a gun - including nerfs. in the capital, Brasília, the sale of gun-looking-things is already forbidden.

for fuck's sake, these things are toys and not killing machines. they are trying - and being sucessful - in making the people think that guns are inherently evil and that toys and video games are what make people violent, not the shitty education and lack of opportunities deccorent from such a shitty education. since we're banning everything that can be used to kill people. why not ban knives then? why not ban cars then? cars kill MUCH more people than guns do. oh, i forgot, the people can't use knives and cars in an uprising in case the government becomes dictactorial scum. but they can use guns. so ban the guns! RIGHTNAOW!

America is the root of a lot of guns and video games, we're safer here then in Brazil.
