So, a lot of time ago (so much time, he had a different username back then), :iconrose-eclipse: had requested a Mauser with cherry furniture, a drum magazine and an cold war-era infrared night vision scope. For a long time, i had forgotten it; yesterday, for some reason, it came back to my mind and as soon as i woke up today i immediately proceeded to modify my notMauser. I apologize for my lateness. (does that word even exist?)

So there you go, buddy! I took more than a year to do it, but i didn't forget!

About the rifle: it's got a drum magazine which would, in a fairly optimistic guess, hold around 40 - 50 rounds, i believe. The scope, based on the M3 Carbine's scope, is your typical late WWII/post-WWII infrared night vision scope; it uses a huge plate, an "infrared floodlight", to "illuminate" the field of view with infrared light; the scope is equpped with a receptor/filter in front that, upon recieving the infrared rays that reflected on objects, shows them in a false color image for the scope. It is powered by a battery pack; normally it'd be carried on the soldier's back and be ridiculously huge; for this one, i made a battery pack on the rifle's stock, which may be connected to a backpack battery since alone it would not be able to power the scope for long. A switch is available on the right side of the handguard, which turns both the infrared illuminator and receptor on/off. This not only helps save the battery, it has also significant tactical importance; the infrared illuminator means that, if the enemy has an infrared optic, it would be easily able to locate the position of the poor user of this rifle; hence, keeping it off when you're not aiming could save your life.

The scope, which i was thinking would be hard to make, was actually fairly easy. About the mag, since i had already done a drum magazine for another project of mine, it was a simple matter of resizing it to the Mauser's dimensions. I had a lot of fun making it and am quite happy with the result (except for the cherry furniture, at which i think i failed), and i hope you do too!

The Mauser didn't used removable magazines right? Awesome work
