so people, as you probably know already as i posted the WIP, i was working in some AK clones. well, the family got a bit bigger than i originally intended... enjoy!

this was a damn huge project, yeah. lets go to an equally huge description.
................................................................................

when the famous AK rifle came to the attention of the west, USBN engineers soon realized its potential; in 1950, when Little Bahia became a pseudo-communist country, they obtained large numbers of AKs. through them, USBN engineers managed to get their hands on - and clone - such marvelous weapons.

these clones were then used for training - and use by black ops teams. by using AKs rather than national weapons, black ops or undercover teams had better chances of remaiming undercover, and it would be harder to identify which country conducted the attack, be it searching for spent cases or lost weapons.

various versions were also made for civilian use, thanks to the sturdiness of the AK system.

these clones were named FAK (Fuzil Automático de Kalashnikov, or Kalashnikov's Automatic Rifle). though these weren't exactly perfect copies, they were indeed clones of Kalashnikov's system.

let's take a look at the variants:

--- FAK variants:

- FAK Tipo I: introduced in 1954, it was a clone of the AK Type III (A.K.A. one of the multiple models known as "AK-47"). chambered for 7.62x39mm. however, instead of using a milled reciever as the AK Type III did, it used a stamped steel reciever, much like earlier prototypes and later versions of the AK; this was did thanks to relatively advanced metal stamping tachniques and equipment. this made the weapon lighter and even cheaper.

- FAKD (Dobrável, or Folding) Tipo I: the folding-stock version of the FAK Tipo I. it used a side-folding stock rather than the underfolding stock used in the AKS Type III. this allowed for more comfortable shooting.

- FAKM (Modernizado, or Modernized): introduced in 1960, it was a clone of the AKM. it should be noted that, from this point on, all FAK variants used a side rail as present in the "N" versions of the AK.

- FAKMD: the folding-stock version of the FAKM, it used a new side-folding stock as to not interfere with the side rail mount. also, unlike other AK and FAK rifles, the stock could be folded even if an optic or other device was attached to the side rail, thanks to the unique design of the stock.

- FAKMD Mk II: most FAKMDs produced post-1975 used a triangular stock like the ones used by the AKS-74 and FAKD-74 rifles. it should be noted that, while it does not interfere with the side rail mount, it should be noted that the stock cannot be folded should an optic or other device be mounted on the rail. however, thanks to the unique design of the side rail, one can remove the optic and then mount it again, and the optic will maintain its original zero.

- FAK-74: introduced in 1974, it was a copy of the russian AK-74. it also fired the new 5.45x39mm round.

- FAKD-74: using the new triangular shaped folding stock, it was designed for paratrooper use.

- FAKD-74C (Curto, or Short): introduced in 1979, it was basically a copy of the AKS-74U.

- FAK-74M: introduced in 1991, it is a copy of the AK-74M. just like its russian sibling, it has a folding stock. though it looks like a fixed stock, and handles just like one, it is actually a folding stock. it features a cut-out in the left side in order to fit the side rail mount. it also was the first weapon to come by default with synthetic furniture instead of wooden.
